Iron age bronze triskele harness mount or fob hanger. Copper-alloy, 34mm diameter, 8.9g. Late Iron Age to Early Roman, circa 200 BC to c100 AD. The object comprises three arms spiralling from a central fixing hole in a Triskele triple spiral. Each of the arms narrows and curves to form a circle, pierced with a wide round hole. The outer edge of each spiralling arm attaches to the circular the frame.
Fobs or danglers are a poorly understood artefact type, and may have been hung from items of harness equipment. The triskele motif is commonly found on objects of the La Tène culture during the European Iron Age.' (Tyacke 2014).
